This is a perfect mini food steamer. The units 1-1/3-quart-capacity steaming bowl can accommodate a couple ears of corn, a medley of summer squash, root vegetables, or other mealtime favorites. Apart from this the product also has an optional food separator that allows for steaming two different types of food at the same time, side by side. It can also be used to cook up to eight soft- or hard-cooked eggs or up to four poached eggs with the included poaching tray. Simply add food, secure the lid, pour in water using the water-level indicator to gauge how much, and start the steaming process by setting the timer from 0 to 30 minutes (a red "on" indicator light will illuminate). The appliance creates instant steam so its possible to start cooking immediately, and its external water-fill system features a transparent reservoir, making it easy to see when more water needs to be added. The unit automatically switches over to a keep-warm setting at the end of the cooking cycle, keeping food warm until serving time.
