Cleaning and Maintaining Egg Cookers
There are many families where egg cookers are used almost every day, twice or thrice depending on the need. Therefore it is essential to clean it daily after use. Unplug the power cord and the unit to cool before proceeding with the process of cleaning. Wash lid, cooking and poaching trays, egg ring, egg pan, service pans in hot soapy water or the top shelf of a dishwasher and let it air dry. Or you may simply scrape the platen surface and remove the residue if any. With the damp grill cloth wipe the entire cooker and the platen surface.
Wet the paper towel with one tablespoon of white vinegar and clean the heating plate with it. This will remove all the impurities and mineral deposits left behind from the water and also function as an antibacterial agent. Cleaning with white vinegar is essential on regular basis, if not the water causes mineral build up which leads to discoloration of egg shells. But it does nothing to taste of the eggs.
